First post - or how not to start a flamewar in 5minutes?

Well, thats the first thing that occurred to me as I though about starting a blog. I'm opinionated and work with IT, so lets face it, anything I say is likely to be flamebait to *someone*.

My good friend Egg suggested I start a blog as a means to gain some visibility in the wider world and share a little of my knowledge and thinking.

So here goes...
